Entry Information

The Shoot Out dares filmmakers to come to Boulder to make a short film on video in 24 hours from Friday night to Saturday night over one weekend. In Boulder the event is being held 20-22nd October.

Filmmakers have from 9pm Friday night until 9pm Saturday night to complete and hand in their film. Given the time restrictions, filming is completed on video format and the final product dubbed onto the VHS tape supplied.

Participants are encouraged to enter prior to the night of registration. On registration night, entrants can :
• book a time for dubbing their final footage from digital to VHS format
• book a time to listen to music in the dedicated Music library

The Conditions

There are certain conditions that provide a challenge for even the most skilful filmmakers and immediately create a level playing field for all competitors. The films must be:
• 7 mins or less
• use in camera editing only, and
• include a number of selected items.

The selected items are specific to Boulder and ensure that the films are made in Boulder.

The items are issued five minutes prior to the start of the event. After that they are listed on the website.
