Shooting Stars Info

The first and only film festival providing actors with the opportunity of being seen again and again and again...

The Shoot Out Hamilton is offering actors an opportunity to show us how much they want to be a star. A Shoot Out Shooting Star, that is!

Actors 16 years and over can register to be a Shoot Out Shooting Star.

The object of the competition is that actors who register as a Shooting Star must attempt to appear in as many Shoot Out films as possible over the 24 hour period from 9pm Friday night to 9pm Saturday night.

A unique opportunity to grow experience, confidence and networks.

The most ambitious Shooting Star is the one who manages to make a legitimate appearance in the most number of films. The prize for the most ambitious shooting Star will be announced Sunday night.

In 2005, the number of registered actors eligible to compete will be limited to 30.

Last year, Merav Azulay-Billington won the challenge after appearing in 17 films in the 24-hour period, more films than many actors make in their careers! Merav won a casting consultancy with an agency and a subscription to Showcast, the casting directory that all the major casting agencies use!!

The date for for the close of Registrations for Shooting Stars will be announced soon.

All Shooting Stars MUST attend a compulsory FREE Workshop. Time and dates to be announced.

Do you dare shoot for the stars?

How it works….
During the 24 hours, directors will be able to contact the actors by phone. Best if you have a mobile phone for the duration of the competition. All producers and directors will be provided with a contact number for all registered actors. If a Shooting Star is asked to appear in a film, the director or producer must verify the legitimacy of the appearance by signing the actor's release form provided by The Shoot Out. Non verified appearances will not be credited.

Actors will not be given contact numbers for directors and/or producers. Actors can approach director/producers at any time by either making contact on registration night or by following teams around during the 24 hours of filmmaking. We dare you to use your initiative to get into the films!

Registration for the Shooting Stars…

Please note: You are responsible for your own safety. So work in pairs. It is recommended that those people under 18 should have a guardian present.
